Four strengths. One shared vision.
Four complementary strengths guide every choice the MASD makes: its programming, its partnerships, its educational offering and the way it welcomes the public. Together they form the museum’s DNA.

A living organism
Inviting people to understand, experiment and create. The MASD is a place in motion, interacting with its audiences and changing with the seasons and the encounters.

A place of exchange from the start

357 finally opens its doors
At 357 de la Commune Street West, in Old Montreal, the Commissioners’ Building reveals its history. Built in 1875, it was at the heart of trade between Europe and North America.
The Daniel Langlois legacy
In 1996, Daniel Langlois, a pioneer of digital cinema and patron of the arts, acquired the Commissioners’ Building. He saw to its preservation and restoration.
In 2001, the restored building became a meeting place for the arts, business and digital technology. A new purpose that paved the way for the next chapter of its history.
A new chapter
In 2026, the Salvador Dalí Archives Museum moves into 357 de la Commune Street West and work begins. For the first time in 150 years, Old Montreal’s landmark building is open to the public.
